2000 Convention - Denver, Colorado

The Convention for the millenial year 2000 was held in Denver, Colorado, in a very nice facility, the National Western Complex Expo Hall, that was somewhat difficult to find! There was major construction going on nearby, making the trip to the Convention location an exciting adventure. Actually, some folks never did find the place. Nevertheless, the glass was beautiful and those who managed to make it were certainly treated to a wonderful set of displays and great glass for sale.

Special thanks go to the two NDGA member clubs that sponsored this Convention - the Rocky Mountain Depression Glass Society and the Pikes Peak Depression Glass Club. Co-Chairmen of the Convention were Mike Horine (Rocky Mountain Club) and Les Stewart (Pikes Peak Club).

Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of NDGA members was held on Friday night, prior to the Show Preview. The results of the election of board members and officers were announced and the newly elected officials were introduced. Also introduced were the many past officers of the NDGA who were in the audience.

Seminars and Speakers

There were six very interesting seminars, three on Saturday and one on Sunday. They were:

Guest Author

There was one guest author at the Convention in 2000 - perhaps the best known name in the Depression Glass world - Gene Florence. But also attending the show as dealers were Myrna & Bob Garrison and Kent Washburn, also authors of books on DG topics. These folks have spent a great deal of time putting together information that helps us all know more about the glass that we love.

Glass and Pottery Displays

There were many tables of glass and pottery shared with us by fellow NDGA members. Thanks to the members of the two sponsoring clubs for arranging for this year's displays. The table below lists the displays and the folks who shared their collections. Click on the "thumbnail" photograph to see a larger version. We apologize for the quality of some of the photos, but at least we have something to show. We also apologize for having missed one or two photographs of displays.
