How to make a Donation to the NDGA
Types of Donations
The NDGA is in need of donations, but the donations can take
many forms. Here are just some of the ways you can make a
significant contribution to the NDGA and its mission of preserving
America's Glass Manufacturing heritage.
- Make a donation of cash. Always useful, and always
appreciated.
- Make a donation of glass. The National Glass
Collection is growing, and your contribution will aid our
preservation efforts.
- Make a donation of Books or Periodicals. Especially
out-of-print materials, which retain immense value to the history
of glassmaking and glass collecting.
- Make a donation of glass manufacturing apparatus. This
might include molds, glassmaker's tools, etc.
- Make a donation of advertisements and advertising
material related to glass manufacturers. This might take the form
of magazine ads, store displays, signs, etc.
- Include NDGA in your Estate Planning. We have some
example text that you can include in your will or trust.
This booklet "Leaving a Legacy"
should be reviewed when updating your estate plans.
- Submit an article for publication in the News &
Views or on the web site. Take the time to research and share
your views and ideas, and the fruits of your own
investigations.
- Volunteer to help out at the Convention, or in the
immense task of cataloging and caring for the National Collection
itself. Our organization consists entirely of volunteers, and
your time is one of the most valuable donations you can
make.
- Volunteer to run for Office. We need our membership to
contribute to the NDGA in the form of leadership. New leaders
mean new ideas. New ideas keep an organization from becoming
stale. Donate your time and expertise for the benefit of all of
us. Send an email to
President@NDGA.net,
VicePresident@NDGA.net or the Nominating Committee
Chairperson or any of the officers listed on our About Us page.
Of course, donations can be made "In Memory Of" or even
anonymously. There are funds specifically directed towards the
National Glass Collection and the
forms for those donations are found on a separate page.
For general donations, the following three choices are available:
- Museum Support Fund - The Museum Support Fund is used
in the day to day operation of the museum.
- Building Fund -
Established in July 2008, donations to this fund are designated for the
purpose of acquiring a Museum for the National Collection.
- General Operating Account - this is for the normal
expenses incurred by the NDGA, and is the repository for any
funds not specifically targeted to any of the above
funds.
Making a Donation in person
For those of you who would like information regarding
contributions, donations may be made directly to the Acquisition
Committee. All
officers and members of the Board of Directors will aid in these
efforts. To contact the
