As far as I can document, I have been a member of the organization since late 1999. The first copy of The News & Views that I have is the Dec. 1999/Jan. 2000 edition. I've been a collector of antique/vintage glassware since about 1987 and have been interested in glassware since reading and studying my grandmother's copy of the 3rd edition of "The Collector’s Encyclopedia of Depression Glass" in 1977 or 1978.
As for the organization, I served as editor of The News & Views from July of 2006 until July of 2007. I have been the Membership Chairperson since July of 2011 and have been a Director at Large since being appointed in July of 2019.
NDGA has seen the growth of its educational endeavors increase dramatically under the presidency of both Danny Cornelius and Pam Meyer. The National Glass Museum has become a vital part of our organization. The News & Views continues to maintain its importance to the members. I have worked to help the organization add to its presence on the web with our website and social media platforms, such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
As President, I want to improve the benefits of being a member in the organization. Likewise, I want to work on continuing the growth of the educational projects that the organization utilizes for everyone, not just our members. I would work to find ways to increase the financial stability of NDGA and to get more members involved in the organization's operations.
I am ready to get to work to strengthen The National Depression Glass Association. I will need the support of all members to make it a worthwhile organization.
