Cheryl Parsons

My name is Cheryl Parsons. I live in Columbia, Missouri. I am running for Director-at Large for a second term.

I have been collecting Depression Glass for over 30 years. My husband and I started our collection by going to auctions in our area and purchasing pink and green glass. The first set I completed was Adam (in pink) which was produced by the Jeannette Glass Company in 1932-1934. I liked how it looked and it seems to hold its’ value.

We enjoy going to the NDGA Convention each year. A highlight for me was meeting Barbara Mauzy. I have used her reference books many times. A good reference book is invaluable, and there are many Depression Glass authors with knowledge to share. Many of the vendors at the Convention can also answer questions about your glass.

Another way I enjoy learning about Depression Glass is watching the YouTube videos put on by the NDGA. The videos have helped the NDGA share information.

The NDGA organization is working to preserve the history of the glassware and their manufacturer, encourages its members to exchange information related to the glassware, and are reaching out to grade schools by having them stop by the museum. This is an organization that I support.
